Objectives:
- Develop a streamlined method of compensation budgeting across the University that is less labor intensive, offers more flexibility, works more cooperatively, is more consistent, and provides better information for decision-making.
Scope:
- Develop a new method of salary budgeting that better meets the needs of the University community than methods in use today.
- Develop a method to budget for all labor costs including faculty, staff, students and all other employees, and non-employees, as well as labor costs budgeted in the aggregate rather than by individual.
- Involve several departments in system testing for FY '09 Compensation Budgeting model.
- Pilot a Compensation Budgeting model using Cognos Enterprise Planning for a few departments for FY ’09.
- Pilot Compensation Budgeting Reporting using Cognos Business Intelligence Suite for the pilot departments for FY ’09.
